Recent experience

As some of you may know, I recently gave a cooking demonstration at my local pub and the experience has left me with two questions:

Firstly: is it possible for a local lad to promote himself in his entrepreneurial endeavours without being reduced to ridicule?

My second question is: Why does the statistical data for population in my area show that there is a deficit of young men compared to other population groups? Where do they all go?

Okay, so that's three questions altogether but who's counting?

Alright, so I am, and now that's four questions. I could go on. But first questions first.

And if anyone has a sausage recipe I would love to use it in my book.

  1. Hi Jack! You know what, if you believe in yourself, you can do anything that you've set out to do and I'm going to give you a little start right away. I will email you a couple of recipes that I always cook using sausage. I'll also ask some of my blogger friends to contribute their recipes. I do hope to see you realise your dreams someday. Who knows, maybe you can come to Singapore and do a cooking show!

  2. Here are two recipes:

    Fried rice (serves 2)
    Ingredients:
2 sausages - diced into small cubes
1/2 cup small shelled fresh or boiled shrimps
    1 large onion - diced
    1 carrot - diced
    1/2 cup green peas
    2 eggs - beaten
    2 tablespoons cooking oil
    2 cups cooked white rice
1 teaspoon Soy sauce or pinch of salt
    Dash of pepper

    Method:
Heat cooking oil in a pan. When oil is hot, stir in diced onion and cook until translucent. Add in eggs. When eggs are partially cooked, stir in sausage, shrimps, peas and carrot. Cook for 5 minutes. Add in fried rice and cook for another 5 minutes until everything is evenly cooked. Add in soy sauce or salt and pepper.

  3. Thanks, Blur Ting (is that your real name?)

Brilliant - two recipes! You're one generous blogger!

I'd love to come to Singapore one day - maybe I'll have a recipe book published by then and I'll sign a copy just for you, for giving me a head start!

It would be exceedingly cool if you could rustle up a few more commenters/recipes for me. You're a star!
